New Zealand MP Golriz Ghahraman has resigned from her position following allegations of shoplifting. Despite not facing any charges, Ghahraman stated that her behavior fell short of the expected standards of elected representatives and attributed it to her mental health. In response to her resignation, Green Party co-leader James Shaw highlighted the continuous threats and harassment Ghahraman had faced since entering Parliament, emphasizing the additional stress she endured. While it is agreed that her resignation is appropriate, it is evident that she requires support during this distressing time.
