UN Compound in Gaza Bombed, Killing Nine

In the midst of ongoing conflict in Gaza, a UN compound housing refugees in Khan Younis was bombed, resulting in the deaths of nine people and injuries to many others. The UN relief agency, UNRWA, reported that two tank shells hit the training college where 800 people were seeking shelter. Israel has not commented on the incident directly, but has acknowledged that its forces are active in the surrounding area. The situation in Gaza remains dire as Israeli troops have encircled the city and issued evacuation orders for over half a million people. This incident highlights the dangers faced by civilians living in conflict zones, as well as the challenges faced by humanitarian organizations trying to provide aid and support.
