Ghanaian media personality Afua Asantewaa has made headlines around the world by completing a five-day singing marathon in an attempt to earn a Guinness World Record. With her voice hoarse and draped in her country’s flag, Asantewaa thanked her supporters in the capital city of Accra. However, the exhausted 33-year-old struggled to remember what day it was. Beginning on Christmas Eve, she surpassed the previous sing-a-thon record by almost 24 hours, performing for a total of 126 hours and 52 minutes. The marathon attracted a large number of well-wishers, including famous music stars, actors, actresses, and influencers. Asantewaa’s perseverance and dedication in breaking barriers and promoting Ghanaian culture has become an inspiration to women and serves as a reminder that with determination and hard work, anything is possible.
