Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is finally able to leave India after a technical problem in his aircraft was fixed. Trudeau’s departure was delayed for two extra days due to the mechanical issue with his plane. The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) CC-150 Polaris with the tail number ’01’ experienced a maintenance problem, resulting in the need for a component replacement. The safety of all passengers is of utmost importance, and the pre-flight safety checks conducted by the RCAF have proven effective. A replacement aircraft is being sent to India to retrieve Trudeau, with reports suggesting that it may have been diverted to the UK before heading to Delhi. This is not the first time Trudeau has faced travel difficulties, as a plane carrying journalists collided with an aircraft chartered for his campaign in 2019. The strained relationship between Canada and India, along with political protests by Canada’s Sikh population, has further complicated the matter. India denies allegations of responsibility for the killing of a prominent advocate for a separate Sikh nation in Canada, which is still under investigation. During their meeting, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed concerns about anti-India activities in Canada, while Trudeau emphasized the importance of respecting the rule of law and national sovereignty. Trudeau also discussed foreign interference in Canada’s affairs, as the country is conducting an investigation into election interference involving China, Russia, and India. With the technical issue resolved, Trudeau is expected to depart for Canada on Tuesday afternoon.
